Fundalo respects your privacy and complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We use Yodlee to securely retrieve transaction data (we never see or store bank credentials) and Stripe to process payments (card data is handled by Stripe). We collect only the personal information needed to provide Fundalo’s budgeting and Smart Allocation services, keep it secure, and you can request access, correction or deletion at any time via privacy@fundalo.com.au. 1. Purpose & Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Fundalo collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects personal information in providing our budgeting and Smart Allocation software to self-employed Australians. It applies to all users and to information collected via our website, mobile/web application, and third-party integrations.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the service:

A. Account & contact information

  • Name, email address, and contact details you provide when registering or joining the waitlist.

B. Financial data (via Yodlee)

  • Transaction records, account balances and basic account metadata retrieved via Yodlee for the purpose of categorising transactions and applying allocation rules. Banking credentials are entered only into Yodlee’s link UI and are never stored or seen by Fundalo.

C. Payment information (via Stripe)

  • We use Stripe Checkout for payments. Card data is handled by Stripe and does not pass through or get stored in Fundalo’s systems other than as non-sensitive tokens/receipts.

D. Usage & technical data

  • Device/browser information, IP address, logs, and interaction data to provide and improve the service.

E. Support & correspondence

  • Emails, messages and support tickets you send us.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide and operate Fundalo (account management, allocation rules, reports).

  • Connect accounts and retrieve transactions via Yodlee to deliver the Smart Allocation feature.

  • Process payments and receipts via Stripe.

  • Communicate with you about your account, changes, and support.

  • Improve and develop the product, perform analytics and detect fraud or misuse.

  • Meet legal or compliance obligations.

We only use your data for the purposes described above unless we obtain your consent for another use.

4. Third parties & sharing

To deliver Fundalo’s services, we rely on trusted third-party providers. These providers help us operate the platform but have their own privacy practices and compliance obligations. Fundalo only shares personal information with these providers to the extent necessary to provide our services, and each provider is contractually and legally responsible for protecting that information.

The key third-party services include (but are not limited to):

  • Yodlee — to securely retrieve account and transaction data (banking credentials are never seen or stored by Fundalo).

  • Stripe — to process payments (card data is handled solely by Stripe).

  • Squarespace — to host our website and forms.

  • Google Workspace — to manage business email and document storage.

  • Zapier — to automate certain workflows (Phase 1: no confidential data stored at rest).

We disclose information to these providers only for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, and we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information securely and in accordance with applicable law.

5. Storage, security & retention

  • Encryption: Data in transit is protected by TLS/HTTPS. Third-party providers encrypt data at rest per their controls. Fundalo does not store banking credentials.

  • Access control: Admin access is limited and MFA is enforced for admin accounts.

  • Retention: We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, or as otherwise required. Users may request deletion (see Section 8).

6. Cross-border transfers

Some third-party providers may store or process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure such providers have appropriate safeguards. By using Fundalo you consent to cross-border transfers necessary to provide the service.

7. Cookies & analytics

Our website uses cookies and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand site usage and improve our content. You can configure cookies in your browser. We do not use cookies to store banking credentials.

8. Your rights

Under the APPs you have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.

  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal/record-keeping exceptions).

  • To exercise these rights contact privacy@fundalo.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain any refusal.

If you remain dissatisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Children

Fundalo is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, contact privacy@fundalo.com.au and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or our services. We’ll post the updated policy with a new effective date on this page.
